Two Line Elements (TLE) for SONATE-2

The official NORAD-ID of SONATE-2 is 59112 and its international deignator is 2024-043Q. Current TLE information can also be found on the CelesTrak website.

Radio Links

CW beacon:
A few minutes after separation a beacon transmitting the satellite's callsign DP0SNX will be activated.

Frequency: 145.840 MHz
Modulation: Morse code CW (A1A)
Interval: 30 sec

Telemetry downlink:
During passes over our ground stations in Germany the telemetry downlink will be activated.

Frequency: 437.025 MHz
Modulation: 9k6 G3RUH GMSK (F1D)
Protocol: AX.25

The protocol format used for encoding the telemetry frames can be found >>here<<.
Recorded AX.25 frames can be forwarded to sonate-2@uni-wuerzburg.de

After commissioning of the satellite, the amateur radio payloads will be activated. Their activation will be announced on our Twitter account https://twitter.com/JMUSpace/. Planned are the following:

SSTV downlink:
Regular downlink of images captured by the on-board cameras

Frequency: 145.880 MHz
Modulation: Martin M1 SSTV FM (F3F)

APRS digipeater:
APRS digipeater in half-duplex operation. The digipeater will NOT be active directly after the launch until further notice. When activated, it will regularly transmit a greeting message.

Frequency: 145.825 MHz Up/Down
Modulation: 1k2 AFSK (F2D)
Protocol: AX.25

LEOP Phase

The launch of SONATE-2 was planned with the Transporter 10 mission with a Falcon 9 for March 4, 2024 at 23:05 (CET).

SONATE-2 was successfully deployed from the launcher at approx. 23:59 (CET) on 04.03.2024. All important milestones up to the first pass are shown in the figure below. A Ticker of all events during the launch an LEOP Phase can be read up here:
