ATUS

As part of the ATUS project, the system environment of ASAP is simulated and tested in hardware and software. In particular, autonomous operation with ASAP is to be tested in an artificially created environment.

The data exchange between the simulated on-board control of the satellite and the ASAP system is of elementary importance for synchronizing the command lists. The satellite operator, who parameterizes the autonomous system beforehand and monitors it during operation, must also be involved. Specially coordinated test cases are to be developed for these tasks in order to verify the functionality of ASAP. At the same time, the algorithms used for the autonomous behaviour of ASAP are to be further optimized.

The project is funded by the Space Agency of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) under the funding code FKZ 50RM1521 with funds from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi).
