Registration
In order to be eligible for early registration, send an email by May 28 to Sigrid Keller. Please list
- your university,
- your supervisor (if any),
- your current academic status (master student, PhD student, postdoc),
- whether you have ever been inscribed at a German university, and
- give a short motivation for participating in the PhD school.
If you have never studied at a German university (and haven't taken part at the EuroGIGA Fall School in Würzburg in 2012), please attach the following documents to your email:
- your photo (preferably 300x400 px)
- your address and telephone number
- a scanned copy of your passport
- a scanned copy of your (blue) health insurance card
We will use these documents to inscribe you as guest student at our university. As a benefit, you will get a student card for free public transportation in and around Würzburg during the whole week, some liability insurance, and a university account for WiFi access anywhere on campus.
If you register after May 28 (and if there are still places available) or if you have already been inscribed at a German university, we don't need these documents, but you will have to pay for public transportation yourself – ask the bus driver for a "Sechserkarte" (that is, a ticket for six trips, which will cost less than 10 €). If you don't try to pay with a very large bill, drivers will give you change.
Please note that Würzburg will be rather full in the week September 22–26 due to conferences and wine festivals. So book your accommodation in time! We have blocked four double rooms at the nice, but small Hotel Poppular at a price of 75 € per night (plus 7 € per person for a good breakfast). The hotel is just a few steps from bus stop "Barbarossaplatz" where you can take bus 14 to "Mathematisches Institut", which is close to the CS building, see our map. If you are interested, contact Sigrid Keller. Please specify the name of the participant with whom you want to share the room.
If you need to cancel your registration, please let us know.
