ADIA ++

Project Overview

The ADIA++ project is the logical continuation and next expansion stage of ADIA. Over the course of two years, the autonomous diagnostic software has undergone a major upgrade so that it can also handle very large volumes of telemetry data, such as those constantly generated on board large satellites and interplanetary space probes. A major innovation is that the system no longer derives symptoms and diagnoses on the basis of an expert system, but rather using quantitative models of the components to be analyzed. By modeling only their target states and no longer the much larger search space of any defects that may occur, the detection of malfunctions is possible with a much wider "dragnet". ADIA++ was tested with data already available at Chair 8.

The project is being carried out in close cooperation with the Chair of Artificial Intelligence and Applied Computer Science (Computer Science VI) at the University of Würzburg and is funded by the Space Agency of the German Aerospace Center (DLR) under the funding code 50RM1524 with funds from the Federal Ministry of Economics and Technology (BMWi).
