EUMETSAT Satellite reception
Receiving actual images directly from earth orbiting satellites is not only exiting but also contributes to the education of students in space technologies. With the operation of the reception system for EUMETSAT weather satellites students get in touch with many aspects of satellite operations such as satellite visibility predictions, update orbital elements, image downlink and satellite communication technologies. The system provides operational reception capability of weather images in real time and puts received images to the web page. The reception system, containing an antenna, receiver and computer with dedicated software is located at the roof of the institute of computer science.
