The Data Science Chair (computer science institute JMU) is a highly interdisciplinary group of researchers led by Prof. Andreas Hotho and member of CAIDAS. We are active in data science and machine learning research with focus on deep learning and applications in multiple domains.

CAIDAS trainiert erstes rein deutsches großes Sprachmodell

We created two German-only decoder models, LLäMmlein 120M and 1B, from scratch!

Janna Omeliyanenko just gave a keynote on "Efficient Language Models as Continual Knowledge Bases" at the Workshop on Knowledge Base Construction from Pre-Trained Language Models at the ISWC 2024.
